Shortly after I published an article about custom modular homes disappearing from many modular factories offerings, I received a message Bob Schieler, Sales Manager at Homeway Commercial, telling me their company did just that. I would love to have sat in on that board meeting!
Homeway Homes will now focus all its efforts and operations on being a modular manufacturer of large-scale commercial projects such as multi-family apartments, housing developments, hotels, senior living facilities, student housing, etc.
Homeway Homes will change its name to Homeway Commercial and will transition out of being a turn-key builder of custom, single-family modular homes. Homeway Commercial will now serve the entire U.S. and will sell its modular units to Developers and General Contractors.
For 23 years, Homeway Homes has been selling modular homes out of its Model Home Center in Goodfield, IL. “Business has been good to us.
However, with the massive growth and popularity of modular construction for large volume commercial projects it makes sense for us to follow this market that is in high demand from our clients.” said Brian Schieler, President of Homeway Commercial.
Using the modular construction approach, buildings can be completed and in operation 30-50% faster than traditional site-built construction. This results in cost savings to the project and quicker income for rental units which all goes right to an owner’s bottom line.
