Edge Homes will be showing off designs that developed in partnership
with two incredible architects that design modular buildings:
Country House – Ross Farland with Dezineworks! in
Dezineworks.biz
Fire Island Home – Chris Krager from MA Modular and
KRDB in
Planning was made more complex by using a Timber frame in
the Country House and SmartPanels combined with the modular buildings in both
buildings. What they are doing is out there they have given their process
a tech-y name “Modular 2.0.” The system is designed to
eliminate many of the architectural constraints in modular construction and
reduce shipping cost and overhead associated with big empty air spaces in
modular buildings.
These photos of their Country House, the larger of our two
using mods, panels, and L-shaped mod-panel hybrid components to create a
40’X24′ great room space with lofts on either side from the 2nd level looking
down. The Douglas Fir Timber frame core of the building, which make a 24′
X 40′ great room vaults to the 28′ top of the 2nd level.
Good Luck at IBS
