The award winning Modular Home between 3,001-4,000 square feet was built on
with builder Old Harbor Homes. Together, Epoch Homes and Old Harbor Homes have
partnered to win a number of design awards. The ocean front home offers
expansive views from all levels and incorporates complex structural engineering
to maximize the glazing in a challenging high wind environment. The initial
design was by the architectural firm Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects. Epoch
Homes converted the structure to a modular approach to reduce costs and to
speed the time of construction. The specifications were developed to
incorporate the Epoch Homes’ Healthy Home Specification, using low VOC building
materials, finishes, and systems to control indoor air quality.
CEO and owner stated, “Our employees are thrilled to be recognized, once again
for the custom homes that we have an opportunity to build. In this case, custom
elements included design, structure and healthy materials. We often say that modular
should be viewed as a construction technology that saves time and money, rather
than a particular look, or a cookie cutter design, and this home is a great
illustration. Our long history of building award winning homes has gone a long
way to dispel old myths and misunderstandings about modular homes.” He
concluded, “Modular homes are faster, lower cost, higher quality and lower
risk, than other construction technologies.” Epoch Homes has won numerous
design awards for its green and custom homes.
