Talk to any cash-strapped young adult, paying their rent each month is a stressful endeavor. Copenhagen-based housing startup Urban Rigger hopes to make it much easier with its latest project.

Their latest project is a reimagined take on student housing, Urban Rigger’s initiative aims to build low-cost modular housing in Copenhagen’s urban harbors. The cost? Roughly $600 per month. In Copenhagen, that’s an absolute steal.

Using shipping containers to build floating communities is a unique idea and with a central courtyard, young people especially should flock to these.
Because Copenhagen’s harbors are located near its city center, Urban Rigger was able to create a solution that was not only affordable but in a desirable part of town.
With the number of good container homes and ADU factories in the US, look for one or more of them to soon explore this type of project.
