I just leaned that Carolina Building Solutions has closed its Salisbury, NC factory and is moving the operations to the former Champion factory in Lillington, NC. CBS is owned by Champion Home Builders as is the Lillington factory which built the Genesis line of modular homes many years ago.
No word yet if the Salisbury factory will reopen as a Champion “HUD” production facility but that is the rumor.

I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now what’s going on here
with the consolidation effort…Sad day to say the least. The good news is that
the CBS Brand lives on! It will be produced at the Lillington, NC. Facility.
Several Managers from Lillington, Including Wade Lyall from Corporate were here
today to discuss just “what” they could handle building from our portfolio.
The end result was a great commitment to build our brand
with making some changes to our “web-site” offerings…slimming down what we will
offer.
