One of the biggest surprises a modular home builder, especially one that is brand new to using modular construction to build homes, is that no two factories do things the same way.

Today, because of escalating costs and long lead times to get homes to the production line, many builders are shopping several modular factories to quote their homes for possibly a quicker delivery time.
But you have to be aware that even though the final product may look almost identical from every factory when it’s shipped to your job site, there are differences in what each factory is willing to do for you, how they build their modules and what options are available.
This short video by Ken Semler, owner of Impresa Modular, talks about those differences and how to make sure what you want is actually what the factory can do.
