Twice a week the Modcoach Newsletter is sent out and included in every one of them is a reader poll. Each month’s results are then put together along with my comments.
I want to thank the hundreds of people who respond to my polls. Your answers just may be what someone needs to see as a better way to do something they were contemplating doing at their factory.
Here are the August Poll questions and final results

Do you think European Modular and Offsite industries are more advanced than those in the US?
YES – 75%
NO – 25%
Modcoach: I expected to see this question to have the US on par with Europe but as you can see, we are not the perceived leaders in modular and offsite.

Are young people abandoning the custom skill trades of construction?
YES – 90.3%
NO – 9.7%
Modcoach: Less than 10% of you think our industry has anything young people want. Amazing!

YES – 38.5%
NO – 61.5%
Modcoach: This was a little surprising considering the push for more affordable housing.

Will Climate Change Bring New Restrictions to Offsite Construction?
YES – 56.3%
NO – 31.3%
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT TO DO – 12.5%
Modcoach: I put the last place choice in just to see if anyone would be honest about Climate Change and surprise, quite a few of you are confused about its impact on our industry.

Have single family home sales slowed down for your company?
YES – 55.6%
NO – 44.4%
Modcoach: No surprise here.

Which of these is the most thing for your company?
Making a good profit – 38.9%
Having a positive cash flow – 33.3%
Signed contracts for a year out – 27.8%
Modcoach: Isn’t Profit always why we opened our business in the first place?

Are you expecting big changes in leadership in the 2022 midterm elections?
YES – 81%
NO – 9.5%
Voting is a waste of time – 9.5%
Modcoach: The poll results reflect what everyone is thinking.

Why can’t the offsite construction industry meet the demand for housing?
Lack of Capacity – 48.1%
Lack of profit in low cost housing – 29.6%
Lack of public utilities – 3.7%
High cost of automation – 18.5%
Modcoach: As I’ve said before, capacity is our industry’s Kryptonite!
