Silver Creek, the large commercial modular factory in
Perris, CA, revealed their new sky™ High Performance Building to a group of
attendees to the MBI Summit held at Cal Poly Pomona last week.
The visit included a tour of the factory, taking a look at Silver
Creek’s steel fabricating shop, their two production lines with various
commercial and education projects being constructed, and even looked at he
trucks as Silver Creek have their own transportation. The tour concluded in the
sky high performance building model where everyone networked and the SCI team
answered more questions.
The sky high performance building was designed by Silver
Creek’s in-house design team with a strict focus on providing a flexible high
performance learning environment. Rather than develop a “one size fits
all” building system, Silver Creek elaborated on the design to present
numerous options. It offers two floor plans and four exterior forms with
options that allow customers to configure their building specifically for their
site, orientation, budget, and program requirements. It was PC approved by the
Division of the State Architect (DSA) last year providing school districts an
accelerated plan check process offering high quality structures in just a
fraction of the plan review and construction time than site-built buildings.
The sky building design can be used for various applications such as retail
space, medical offices, or daycare center.
