Making resolutions is easy. Doing them is hard. Ballplayers only need one hit out of four to earn millions, but you’re not a ballplayer — and one out of four in this business can put you out of business. If you’ve never committed to these three before, this is the year they must move from “ideas” to action.
First, learn to manage your cash flow like the lifeline it is.
Before the 2008 crash, and again during the post-COVID housing frenzy, homes sold so fast that overspending didn’t matter because the next job covered the last. That illusion is gone. Interest rates, delayed projects, insurance slowdowns and soft demand have all exposed the truth: if you don’t know what cash you truly have, what is actually yours, and what belongs to a future job, then you don’t have control — you have hope — and hope is not a strategy. Managing cash today means treating every dollar with purpose, planning ahead instead of reacting, and investing back into the business with intention rather than assumption.
Second, build a digital presence that proves you exist.
Too many modular builders are still operating online like it’s 2005, with websites that look abandoned, social accounts that never post, or no content at all. In 2026, everyone — homebuyers, developers, lenders, even potential staff — will look you up before they speak to you. If your last website update was years ago or you’ve convinced yourself social media is optional, you’ve already lost credibility. You don’t need perfection. But you do need visibility.
Third, regain your focus. Distraction is the silent killer of productivity.
The modular and offsite world is chaotic. Phones ring, texts ping, “quick questions” become 20-minute detours, and before you know it the day is gone and nothing that mattered got done.
Paul and Linda McCartney wrote it perfectly:

Or, in 2026:

And what ties all of this together?
You!
Not your staff. Not the market. Not the factory. Not the economy. You. None of these resolutions work unless the person reading this decides to act.
