After driving 11 hours I finally arrived in Greenwood, SC, where Impresa Building Systems’ (IBS) new factory is located. Then this morning I met the team that transformed a non-modular friendly 231,000 sq ft factory into the factory I saw today in less than 90 days!

This feat was accomplished by Ken Semler, the CEO of IBS, Dan Hobbs, the President and Tommy Rakes, the President of Manufacturing Operations.

After an hour’s tour of the factory with Ken Semler, I sat in on their first day of Open House for Builders and Developers. Darin Zaruba, the Investment Coordinator for IBS led the presentation and the Q&A.

The homes on the production floor are being built for a large community in the area but other developers are already seeking homes from this new factory and honestly, I can’t blame them.
