According to ATCO Structures & Logistics, it was awarded
the deal to manufacture, install and operate modular housing to support the
massive workforce expected at the project near Peace River, Alta., about 125
miles northeast of Grande Prairie.
The modular units for the project will be manufactured at
ATCO’s facilities in
the company said.
The core building within the housing facility will consist
of 94 modular units in combination with a panelized system in the lobby to
create an open hotel-like feel.
The dormitories will feature single occupancy bedrooms with
ensuite bathrooms.
The building will also house a stand-alone gymnasium with
racquetball and squash courts, a running track and separate weight training
areas.
ATCO will also construct a 200 person open-plan office
complex as part of the bundled solution.
To service the site, ATCO will build and maintain a 1,500
person wastewater treatment plant.
Manufacturing work is expected to begin in the fourth
quarter of 2013 and completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015.
