With chocolate bars everywhere you look, the Modular Building System Association held their annual meeting in Chocolatetown, USA….Hershey, PA yesterday.
Mike Clementoni (VP of Muncy Homes) was elected President for 2014. Members present included many modular factory people along with builders, lenders, suppliers and others. I was one of the ‘others’.
Tom Hardiman, Executive Director said that membership is growing and should double by next year. There are still some modular factories that don’t belong and I want to encourage any that haven’t joined yet to contact Tom for information about this great group of people.
Discussions included how the factories and builders are working together to help rebuild NJ after Sandy, increased marketing presence for modular homes, a more responsive effort to help solve builder questions and problems along with the action being taken by the MBSA in legislative arenas around the country to ensure that modular housing is presented in an accurate and positive light.
However one of the highlights for me were the little bowls of Hershey chocolates all over the tables and meeting Norm Hall from Simpson Strongtie.
