Securing a contract to provide modules for a large project is always exciting but when you get four dormitories to build, that is a big deal!
KBS Builders, Inc. (“KBS”) business has signed an approximately $9 million contract to manufacture 72 modules for the construction of 4 new dormitories for a college in New England.
This project is the largest contract in KBS’s history and launches KBS’s expansion into the student housing segment. Production is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2022.

KBS’s sales pipeline remains robust and entering new markets such as student housing will help us achieve our growth goals.”
KBS, a wholly-owned division of Star Equity, manufactures modular housing units for commercial and residential real estate projects and operates in two businesses: (i) modular building manufacturing and (ii) structural wall panel and wood foundation manufacturing, including building supply distribution operations for professional builders.
