An interesting discussion happened in Ohio has resulted in a decision that allows for modular homes in manufactured home communities.

The first question I had was “why would a modular company ever want their homes in a manufactured community?”
The answer is one of the strangest and also one of the brilliant I’ve seen in quite some time.
It seems that Ohio and most other states don’t allow anything but single family manufactured homes into communities but with the need for affordable housing what could communities do to get more residents.
This is the brilliant part. Why not ask for a change in the rules that would allow modular duplexes built on manufactured home production be allowed in those communities.
Enter Adventure Homes, a HUD manufacturer, with a modular single wide duplex. As I said, it’s a brilliant idea and now look for more states to begin allowing modular single wide duplexes.
