When 40 year old Haven Homes, one of the oldest and most
respected names in the modular housing industry decides to close its operations,
we all have to sit back and wonder if the economy is ever going to get better.
Today at 3:00 PM, Haven Homes and Haven Classic Homes,
located in
new homes.
Ample notice is being given
to all their employees, customers and vendors.
They are working with other local modular factories to help their
employees and customers find new places to work and place home orders.
Contrary to how most other modular home factories close,
Haven Homes is not filing bankruptcy.
The current competitive and economic environment along with the recent
health issues within the Board of Directors made this decision a hard one for
everyone involved.
All houses under contract will be completed with the last
one off the line in August. No new
orders are being accepted.
The official closing date for Haven Homes is September 24,
2012.
