This week I included five more polls from my latest email newsletters and here are the results from those poll questions about our industry, the offsite and modular construction industries.
Here are the results of my latest polls.
What is generally most important to Developers?
Low Price 26.3%
Fast Delivery 57.9%
Top Quality 15.8%
I was expecting Low Price to get the most votes but it seems Developers will sacrifice Low Price and Top Quality for Fast Delivery. Factories take note!
Do your customers ask if you build to Net Zero standards or do you bring it up ?
They want to know upfront 17.4%
I tell them before they ask 8.7%
It’s not brought up by either party 73.9%
The results of this poll are truly shocking! Not only did few ask about Net Zero, it seems few builders are even including it in their sales meetings. The majority of new home buyers don’t really seem to be that interested in it. Now tell me again why do customers really want to pay more for government-mandated Net Zero homes?
Will transportation costs continue to rise into 2022?
Yes 95.7%
No 4.3%
I have been reading that the average price of diesel fuel could hit $6.00 a gallon by mid-2022.
Should “Garden Shed” Homeless Communities Continue to be Built Without Code Restrictions?
YES 21.7%
NO 78.3%
Again, this almost seems like a no-brainer but 1 in 5 said we should allow these homes without regulated inspections for fire and safety concerns.
How many projects a year do you build for your own development company?
0 projects 17.6%
1-3 projects 23.5%
4-7 projects 15.6%
8 or more projects 32.3%
I asked a rather industry-encompassing question, not knowing if factories, General Contractors or Developers would answer. Still don’t.
