On March 25th, Modcoach is holding a Special Breakfast Roundtable with the most influential national spokespeople in Manufactured and Modular Housing to learn how the MHI (Manufactured Housing Institute) and HUD are preparing for their push into affordable housing with a home called the CrossMod.
Sitting on the sidelines and waiting to see what happens as CrossMod homes begin to enter the market in bigger numbers should not be an option for anyone in housing. The name CrossMod has caused some IRC modular people to question why they chose “Mod” to be added to a HUD product.
The potential CrossMod has to erode the IRC single family modular housing industry will be a real eye-opener for those factories and builders that haven’t begun changing their marketing and sales tactics to sell against this product.
CrossMod and the MHI are not the bad guys in this push to provide affordable housing. They are simply using the tools available to them to meet this market that used to be a major part of IRC modular’s business.
Modular builders and factories simply can’t sit by waiting for a knight in shining armor to ride in and save them from MHI’s CrossMod but you do have to learn the facts of what they are doing to learn how to market IRC modular homes better than we ever have done before.
Along with impact potential of CrossMod on modular housing there are new regulations being put before Federal legislature by the manufactured housing folks that could further strengthen their foothold into modular housing unless you, the modular housing industry, learn what is coming and prepare for it.
