Building upon the success of the inaugural Mod X workshop, held in Boston and New York City in November 2018, Professors Ivan Rupnik and Ryan Smith in partnership with the Modular Building Institute will be organizing the next installment of this series, Mod X: Japan, with a focus on the offsite construction industry in Japan.
With nearly 20% of housing construction being highly prefabricated, Japan offers a unique perspective into a mature offsite delivery ecology, exemplifying best practices ranging from logistics, robotics, recycling to regulation, lobbying, sales and post occupancy assessment, to name a few.
