The Modular Home Builders Association’s (MHBA) Annual
Membership Meeting is the most comprehensive meeting anywhere for modular home
builders, architects, engineers, developers, and suppliers.
Registration is now open for the 2019 MHBA Annual Membership Meeting. Taking
place on October 9th and 10th in Hershey, PA, the meeting provides
professionals in residential modular construction a place to network, exchange
ideas, learn from experts, discuss issues, and grow professionally.
Expert speakers will give top-notch presentations about
the modular housing industry. Professor Ivan Rupnik of Northeastern University
will explore the significant transformation in competence, capacity, and
capability soon to take place the U.S. volumetric modular industry.
Alison Donovan of Vermont Energy Investment Corporation will
provide an overview of factory-built, all-electric and high-efficiency Zero
Energy Modulars (ZEM) along with preliminary thoughts on the opportunities and
barriers of ZEM as an affordable housing solution.
Colby Swanson of Momentum Innovation Group and Joseph
Louis of Oregon State University will examine how existing modular
manufacturers can improve their overall efficiency as demand for offsite
construction grows and the construction labor shortage worsens.
Cindy Davis of the Virginia Department of Housing and
Community Development will discuss the efforts to use modular construction as a
viable option for Virginia’s affordable housing shortfall and as a potential
resource in the event of natural disasters. She will also talk about her recent
initiatives as the Deputy Director of the International Code Council.
Officials from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, and
Virginia will provide modular housing code updates from their states.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with
companies involved in the modular housing industry.
