When this family decided to build a home that reflects the natural beauty of Washington, they turned to the Architectural firm of Prentiss-Balance-Wickline to achieve their goal.

The Buck Mountain House is a 1,832 sq ft modular, three-bedroom cabin in the San Juan Islands, WA.

Constructed of four modules manufactured by Method Homes, the house is perched on a concrete-and-steel structure designed to capture the spectacular Orcas Island view.

A cantilevered deck stretches toward the water, while a floating bridge between the module sections enables a through-and-through view past the treeline.

At the core of Prentiss Balance Wickline Architects is the pursuit of balance: between natural and built environments, between a client’s vision and real-world parameters, between beauty and utility.
